now this is just a an idea, a curious question that's been flouting around in my head for a bit, so I'm located in the rural countryside, nice and quiet and peaceful, most days just sitting on the front porch or pottering around fixing things, fishing and watching the wildlife, hold on I'm getting to the question, lol, but I've always loved the coastal areas so my question is, how hard is it to move province/ immigration office, the one here is excellent, very easy for everything, so my file is here do I ask for it and take it to the new one or do they send it or do you have to start over again with your TM30 etc, now this is just a thought it will probably not happen but you never know, lol

TLDR : Answer Summary
When relocating to a new province in Thailand, you need to register your new address with the local immigration office, which involves submitting a TM30 form. Your immigration file is not physically transferred; instead, it's updated online. It's advisable to contact the new immigration office to confirm if they require a change of address form. Generally, the process involves filing the TM30 for your new residence and starting your 90-day reporting and extension procedures there.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).

I also stay in the sticks Nam Kliang Sisaket province and love the peace and tranquility from my front porch nearest neighbor about 500 mtrs away and wouldn’t swap it for a coastal location

Just go a vacation to the coast when you feel like it

Enjoy your life in Thailand ✌️

if you are staying in a family owned house just go back there a week or so before to renew your extension ....get the family to update your TM30 then go back and do your renewal ....

I moved from Pattaya to Khon Kaen 3 years ago. All I did was go to the Immigration office in Khon Kaen and registered my new address. I use Kasikorn bank so things were easy, I went to the local Kasikorn bank together with a residency certificate from Immigration shortly after arriving here and had no problems opening a new account but as I had all my UK bank transfers setup for my Pattaya account I left that as it was. When my retirement extension was due I just went to my local branch in Khon Kaen and they issued the statement and letter based on my Pattaya account. So long as you register your new address there shouldn't be any problems but don't expect things to be easy if you don't register and try to do a 90 day or retirement renewal in a different office to the one you are registered with. I'm not saying you can't as I don't know but I could see it being a problem

Your original bank branch doesn’t change. You can do most anything at any branch but to close the account you have to go to the original branch. You also have to use cardless withdrawal at ATM’s to avoid ATM charges.

I live in Bangkok now but my Bangkok Bank branch is in Kantharalak, Sisaket province, 8 hours away.

Marty Pollard just a question I was told that you can only get a new ATM card from.branch where acc open. So if like this guy asking questions, opened acc Khon Kaen and moved to say Bangkok I would have to close Khon Kaen or just move all my info to Bangkok

Graeme Drake I am not sure about that particular issue. You would have to ask a branch. I use cardless withdrawal all the time now. It is good to have a card but I rarely use it.

Marty Pollard He's asking about changing immigration office - not bank! (although he may wish to consider that as part of his move).

I would say the busier the location , the busier the immigration is going to be. Phuket,Samui etc…… but if you do it right it’s only one or 2 visits a year

It's pretty straightforward. Wherever you stay in the new location has to file a TM30 for you, get a copy of the receipt, then you just start doing 90 day reports there and extensions etc. Probably best to ask the new immigration office if they require you to file a change of address form but not all do.

Uhh, ohh. Is it like that? The latest stay TM30 (if ever submitted from a hotel) might be many hours drive from the current one.

The new location could be somewhere in the sticks where landlord (be it your wife) would have no idea what it is. How would someone's wife have a printer to print the receipt? Possible but not likely.

Immigration will ask for the current address, landlord (even if your wife) to appear in person and sign several documents, with her ID and Blue book signed copies.

Jim Davis The wife would do the TM30 online and if there's no printer the PDF can be downloaded and saved to a phone and printed at a print shop when in a biggish town. No need now for anyone to attend in person for a TM30.
