TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their current 60-day visa in Thailand based on retirement. They need to apply for an in-country Non-O visa at least 15 days before their current visa expires, and then they can apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement when their latest stamp has 30 days or less. The Chalong Immigration Office would be their point of contact, and the user is advised to check the latest requirements from the immigration office directly.

60days visa means you should have entered on a Single Entry Tourist visa. You cannot apply for an extension based on retirement directly. You need to follow these steps

1. apply for in-country Non-O based on retirement when your current stamp still has more than 15 days.

2. after 15 days of under consideration, go back to the immigration office to get a Non-O initial visa and admitted-until-stamp

3. apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement when your latest stamp has 30 days or less

Here are just general information.

Remember, You need to go to the immigration office you are applying at to get the latest handout for immigration-office-specific requirements.

This is general information for in-country Non-O retirement visa application

When your application for an in-country visa is approved, you are stamped for 90 days to stay.

You need to have funds in your Thai bank account, but no seasoning requirement for in-country Non-O. Your funds have to sit in your account for more than two months only when you apply for 1-year extension.
