Applying for a Thai visa from Puerto Rico is challenging due to the absence of a Thai embassy in the territory, requiring applicants to go through the embassy located in Washington, D.C. This can lead to longer processing times and potential delays compared to applying in nearby countries like Vietnam or the Philippines. Additionally, the type of visa application, such as the DTV visa, and the applicant's specific circumstances may further complicate the process.

If you’re currently in Puerto Rico then DC Thai embassy will be where you apply, personally it is much faster to travel to Vietnam or Philippines and apply from there as approval is significantly faster vs waiting 2-3months to get approval back from DC
