I'm heading to Laos next week for the DTV. Does anyone know if itβs available online or I've to book an appointment?

TLDR : Answer Summary
From January 1, the DTV visa application process will transition to an online system through the eVisa portal for the Thai consulates in Laos, specifically in Vientiane and Savannakhet. Applicants will need to log in to the system, upload their Lao visa and entry stamp, and use their hotel address as required. However, they must still book an appointment at the embassy to make the payment for the eVisa, as online payment will not be available at these locations. This change has been communicated to ensure a streamlined application process.
did you go to the website and read the processing time they have listed? OR did you even click on the image grab I posted OF the page that lists all that eVisa stuff?
I ask you that because it appears you did not π
and no, you can't come back here, you stay IN the country whose consulate you used until it's approved or rejected. π
appointments finished 20 December for anyone wondering. Can remember a post saying Laos will be online applications but would take 14 days to set up. Maybe confirm with embassy as Tod has explained. You wouldn't want to make the trip for nothing. But it's a cool place to hang out while you wait for approval
ok so they are fully online it's up and running just no system to pay online must go to embassy to pay. 10,000 bht. That's ok I found Vientiane very good to deal with and understand English well. I think they will be a good option to apply at online.also close to border with bus and train options back to Thailand
At first they said you had to make an appt to show up and pay (at either Vientiane or Savannakhet I can't remember which one)
Now it looks like you just show up during the hours they're open to pay

It's all online through the e-visa site from January 1 on. Most nearby embassies have switched or are switching over in January. This has been commented on numerous times in the group.

As I understood it - there is no longer in person appointment for DTV? It is all now via the evisa?
right after the 1st of the year you apply online, but in Vientiane and Savannakhet you have to GO to the consulate to pay in person after you've applied
