Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice about applying for a DTV.
How long does approval usually take, and what evidence is best to submit? I have a website portfolio that shows my work, but I’m not sure if that’s enough.
For proof of funds, can I use statements from my investments on Freetrade, where my money is currently held? Would that be accepted for the DTV?
I’m currently living in the UK (since July 2025), and before that I was travelling through multiple countries.
Thanks in advance for any help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on the approval time for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) and what documentation is necessary. Suggestions include ensuring funds are held in a standard bank account rather than investment platforms and providing detailed evidence of income through invoices. Additionally, the user is encouraged to showcase their work creatively through their portfolio.
Freetrade won't work, you need the funds in a standard bank account. You should also show your earnings via invoices matched up with incoming funds in your bank to prove your income. And if you are registered to pay tax or have tax returns include that
I also have been traveling a lot and recently used London and it went through pretty quickly.
Not sure about the funds being on a separate platform though so would suggest they are in a bank account you have immediate access to. Also highlight on that statement any salty deposits or invoices paid to you.
Portfolio should be great but I’d suggest adding additional captures showing how you didn’t work. Screen captures almost like a story board of conception to completion with your website portfolio as the end product.
