Applied Nov 29

Approved today

Cost: 400k krw ($275)

US Citizen

Non South Korean resident / tourist exempt visa sticker

Despite what everyone was saying about Seoul requiring Korean residency, I was actually approved.

Applied for workation. Needed to submit 3 months of bank account containing >500k thb all months. Resume. Certificate of income from government (submitted tax return). Employment certificate requesting DTV visa with official seal and signature. Lease agreement or hotel reservation (for SK or Thailand I don’t know so I submitted both).

Thanks for all the help 🥰

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen successfully applied for a DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Seoul despite initial doubts about the requirement for South Korean residency. The applicant paid 400,000 KRW ($275) and submitted necessary documents, including proof of funds, a resume, a certificate of income, and accommodation details. The experience suggests that non-residents of South Korea can apply for this visa at the embassy.

Congratulations on your DTV and Thank You for your report, but the Thai Embassy in Seoul's website is not particularly precise about what documents are needed for those who are not residents in South Korea and the Thai Embassy in Seoul's verbage seemed to imply that only residents of South Korea can apply there....

But, if one looks at the details for a Thai Tourist E–Visa (no details for DTV E–Visa), then it seems, from your experience, an Entry Stamp/sticker upon arrival into South Korea is acceptable for DTV applications of those not residents in South Korea....

Did you submitted all these documents when you applied or they asked as additional documents later?
