What documents do I need to cancel my DTV visa via email at the Thai Embassy, and how long does the process take?
Hello everyone.
I have some questions that anyone who has experience canceling DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Hanoi or at the embassy of another country.
(1) What documents were required for cancellation by email? Was it just passport and DTV pdf?
(2) How many days did it take from the time you contacted them by email until the cancellation was completed?
(3) How did you know that the cancellation was completed? Did you receive a notification by email from Thai Embassy?
I currently hold DTV and am staying in Thailand. I got job in Thailand, so I am planning to cancel DTV and switch to NON-B visa.
After leaving Thailand, I will be requesting cancellation by email to the Thai Embassy in Hanoi where I obtained my DTV, and then applying for NON-B at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane Laos.

Would it not be simpler to try to achieve both at Hanoi? At least then you could say, here is why I need to cancel my DTV...

Technically, you should be able to convert from DTV entry to non-B inside of Thailand at your new employer's immigration office.
That is much easier said than done, because your employer would have to support it and many do not or cannot provide the massive amount of paperwork needed for an in-country conversion. And it's likely some immigration offices would not even consider converting from a DTV to a non-B. If that route is available to you, it's probably easier than trying to cancel your DTV.
Otherwise good luck, I haven't really heard of people successfully cancelling their DTV.
