Just would like some advice please, I’m going Laos. next week to get my work visa, so I can come back and work in Thailand, how long does it take for them to do visa at the Thai embassy.

I recently did it in Vientiane... I arrived at 9am on a Tuesday, and collected it on Thursday. I was advised that 48 hours is the standard. As mentioned, you'll need an appointment (easy to do online - and you WONT be allowed in without one), and you'll need all the paperwork from your employer

The website would have the requirements and how long it will take. Also if you're going to Vientiane you'll need an appointment.
