Hi everyone,

I have a few questions regarding the documents requested by the Thai Embassy for the DTV visa application. I am currently working a remote job for a company that is not based in Thailand but they asking for Thailand company VAT and Thai ID. Anyone face this issue before, can advise for me please.

* Thailand Company VAT Registration Certificate (Phor Por 20) in Thai version ภพ. 20

* Properly scan clear copy of Thai ID (Both Sides) of authorized person and to be signed

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the documents requested by the Thai Embassy for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) application, specifically mentioning a Thai VAT registration certificate and a Thai ID. The author expresses confusion over these requests since they work remotely for a company based outside of Thailand, prompting questions and advice from community members regarding the peculiar requirements. Many suggest that the embassy might have mistakenly used a template meant for non-immigrant B visas, and there is a consensus that the request for Thai company documentation seems unreasonable for a DTV application. Suggestions include providing a detailed explanation letter along with the requested documents, citing legal sources to clarify the inapplicability of the requests.

Have you had a Non B or another visa before that might not be terminated?

I don’t apply any visa before bro.

he possibility of the consulate making a mistake is very low. Did you not choose DTV when applying?

its DTV

Most probably someone chose the wrong standard request for further documents. They mistakenly used their template request intended for non-imm B visas...

1.) Where is this Thai Embassy?? from other Comments, seems to be the Thai Embassy in Singapore?

2.) How much did you pay for Thai E–Visa Fee application? if indeed your DTV E–Visa application was submitted to the Thai Embassy in Singapore, then was your E–Visa Fee SGD $500 Dollars??

Can you make an appointment at the consulate to discuss this in person? If not reply to the email if possible with clarification or upload a letter in place of the requested documents that is asking for clarification.

Exactly, upload a detailed letter with legal references instead of what they are asking for. Anyway, you can't provide what they're asking for, and it's an unreasonable request considering you're applying for a DTV.

my thoughts exactly! They don’t make it possible to really communicate back and forth so if it were me I would use the upload tool where they are expecting the requested documents and it would have detailed letter stating you’ve applied for DTV and the requested docs aren’t applicable and I would certainly cite legal sources

Perhaps they selected the wrong clarification requests. I have read that some embassies as for the employers company registration. Maybe upload that and a copy of your ID and a letter of explanation.

This sounds all over the place as the foundation of this visa is that your income is expected to come from sources abroad at all times. Other gurus here have challenge me as of how do i come up with this information. Really easy I know how to read and clearly understand the scope of this visa. Without knowing the post and the circunstances on which you applied it will be difficult to give you advise. The moment you MENTION THAILAND AS A SOURCE OF INCOME IN MY WORLD YOUR AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED. If you want to work in thailand there are a bunch of visas you can apply to just not dtv. God have some mercy with your application 🙏

Thanks for feedback, I’m working remotely for a Singapore based company. My income is fully from abroad, and I have no clients or business ties in Thailand. Thailand only as my temporary location for remote work, not as a source of income.

Anonymous participant than for them to ask you this stuff just does not make any sense. I would follow with a nice email asking them how they expect you to have this info citing the information you are writing here. My income comes from outside of thailand . I dont have any thai clients etc and i think you should be fine. I think i misread your post so i apologize. It really does not make any sense to request this info. What post did you apply if you dont mind me asking 🙏

That's odd, at best 🥹

That is crazy. You cannot work or deal with a Thai company on a DTV. Which embassy is this? It sounds like they think you are applying for a B to get a WP after

yes funny bro, it’s from Singapore. Looks like my application fee might be gone… 😅

Anonymous participant Strqnge for Singapore as they are seen as a very efficient embassy. I worked for a global Japanese company and all foreign staff for Thailand sent to Singapore for their "B". I suggested. Applicants would get a pack of documents sorted and labeled with coloured stickies on it just to hand over. 2 days later the B

Participant(e) anonyme Maybe they mixed it up and sent you a standard request for further documents for non-imm B. That would make sense...
Dnatjugweme ************
Participant(e) anonyme Since your application fee may be lost already, I would challenge them with a cover letter on those specific points. Look for official references that you're not allowed to work for a Thai company with a DTV and write a nice cover letter. You might even get the visa in the end.
