What should I do for my marriage visa renewal in Thailand without a lease agreement for residency?

Hi, I am approaching my second renewal of my marriage visa; but we currently do not have a lease in place as we don’t know what part of the country we will be in and for how long in each spot. I know that a lease contract and owner’s documents are a huge part of the approval process proving current residency etc., so any advice is appreciated. I don’t think an Airbnb situation will suffice. My MIL lives in Isaan, so I’m not sure if it’s better to do our renewal in her province or if we need to just bite the bullet and get a lease regardless of if we will stay there or not.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on renewing their marriage visa in Thailand without a current lease agreement due to uncertain living arrangements. Community members suggest applying for the renewal in the province linked to the spouse's tabien bahn, utilizing family home documentation, and ensuring proper TM30 registration. They emphasize the importance of the tabien bahn and suggest that in some provinces, strict residency verification may be more flexible.

Get the housemaster of the tabien bahn you husband is registered in to photocopy the first page and pages with husband's name ,stating they allow you to live there. Make sure house master signs it. Take that and the actual tabien bahn to immigration when you apply . Also a signed copy of both sides of housemasters thai ID card. You will have to apply at the provincial office of said tabien bahn.

You'll also.need to do a fresh tm30 with those details to use when you apply

Just apply where your wife is registered using her tabien ban. That'll all I've ever needed.

his work location may vary but he will have a home somewhere and be in a house book somewhere (most likely the same place/family home). That's what I would use and circumvents the lease issue

Interpretation of rules vary by province. Residency has never been an issue in my 15+ renewals ever

You have to do the extension in the province where your TM30 is lodged

Why not settle down in one area? Or are you still deciding what part of Thailand you want to live?

I see but you have to settle down somewhere or at least establish a residency for immigration purposes. Are you a trailing spouse on his work visa?
