DTV - London evisa approved - workcation

Relatively easy with the right docs.

Provided:

Letter from employer addressed to the Thai Embassy in London saying I have permission to work in Thailand.

Scan of Drivers license (the card)for proof of address.

Bank statement showing about £13,000 - I asked my bank to send me a statement for just a few days so it did not contain any transactions.

Proof of visa payment

Extra document was requested about 24 hours after the initial application- contract of employment.

After submitting the requested document, the visa was approved on a Sunday 48 hours later.

Only slightly worrying part of the process was that when I first went to pay for the visa, the system sent me some weird error message and I couldn’t pay. To solve the issue , I just completed the forms again and on the 2nd attempt, the payment portal worked.

Hi Phill, Thank you for sharing your experience! Just to check I've understood correctly... They only wanted to see a bank statement for a few days, showing a balance of roughly £13,000 but no transactions? i.e.not showing the sum being paid in? They don't want to see the balance at that kind of level for a month or three months or whatever?

that’s right Tom. I think with the exchange rate you only need about £11,500 but I put 13 in there to be safe. They literally just want to see the money is in your account. No transactions or back statements requested. However, I hear with other embassies this is not the case. London honestly seems like the easiest embassy to apply from.

Great! Thank you very much Phill.

you’re welcome- good luck with your application. Also just to be clear, my experience was with the workcation dtv and I work for a company. If you are self employed, I hear they often ask for tax returns too, but not in my case.

Did they ask for proof of a flight from London to Thailand, or any accommodation proof at all?

did you have to go anywhere to get your visa physically in person? or is it all via email

it’s all done online. You go to the Thailand evisa website. It asks you which country you’re applying from and then directs you to there. All docs are simply uploaded as pdfs or jpegs.

awesome. so i don’t have to physically go anywhere to receive my Dtv?

that’s correct. When the DTV is approved, they send you a pdf which you print out and show immigration when you arrive. The pdf has a QR code which immigration can scan to get details of your visa.

I also just got approved from London embassy for workation. They asked for some extra documents and all in it took 6 days start to finish. Even got my approval yesterday on a Sunday night at 8pm. They are working over the weekend!

Your local Thai embassy website should have info about bringing pets into Thailand.

2 pets is quite a bit of paperwork so understandable getting someone else do it ..
