Hello, I would like to apply for the DTV visa in Thailand. I am a digital nomad and have a US LLC for my work. Currently, there are no official regulations on how much money one should have in the bank—so is it also possible to present invested funds such as ETFs or stocks? Also, do I need to somehow legitimize or register my US LLC for Thailand? Could someone share their experiences and give tips on what kind of financial proof is needed to ensure the process goes smoothly? Thank you!:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post discusses the requirements and experiences related to applying for the DTV visa in Thailand, particularly as a digital nomad with a US LLC. Key points highlight the necessity of applying from outside Thailand and maintaining a minimum balance of 500,000 baht in a personal bank account for three months prior to application. The conversation also addresses the types of financial proof that can be provided, emphasizing that investments like ETFs or stocks may not suffice without sufficient cash documentation. Additionally, there are mentions of document legitimacy for US LLCs and the visa's stipulations regarding work sources outside of Thailand.
I have a German passport, and of course I will apply when I’m outside of Thailand - a friend say I need to legalize US documents of my LLC. I have clients outside of Thailand.
First of all you need to apply for the DTV from outside Thailand. And yes there are regulations: you need to have at least 500.000 baht for the last 3 months in a bank account on your name. ETFs, stocks and cryptocurrency are not accepted.
Generally speaking you need to provide that you have the cash in a checking account/savings account. It’s somewhat arbitrary and depends where you apply though. If you’re applying outside the USA they will usually ask for documents that are easy to understand. You can include investments as supporting proof but you will probably be asked to show you have cash and income coming in.
