Should I wait three months after consolidating my funds before applying for a DTV visa in Thailand?

I recently consolidated 500k baht into one bank account. Should I wait three months before applying for the DTV visa (cooking class), or is it okay to apply now? By the way, I plan to apply from Vietnam.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering applying for a DTV visa after recently consolidating 500,000 baht into one bank account. There's uncertainty about whether to wait the recommended three months for the funds to be seasoned. Comments suggest a mixed view: some advise waiting for better chances of approval, while others mention experiences of success with recent transfers. Recommendations include writing a cover letter explaining the source of funds, considering alternative options like applying from a different country, and noting that the Hanoi embassy may have a quicker process without strict seasoning requirements.

It’s a gamble. You take a risk if you apply without if being in your account for close to 3 months. Some people have been approved with recent transfers and some suspect the recent transfer is why they’ve been rejected. The embassy in Hanoi for example doesn’t state you need it in your account for 3 months but they seem to be getting stricter and in recent months there are more posts about rejections from there.

If you can’t wait 2 ish months to apply, you could write about the reason for the recent transfer in your cover letter, explain where it’s come from, show the statements of where it’s been transferred from and make it easy for them to understand. By addressing it and giving them confidence you have a secure financial position, you should be ok. Also include in your cover letter why you want to be in Thailand, where you’ll live. that you won’t work in the country etc.

Here’s my post about my application from Hanoi

Minimum 3 months is recommended for better chances of approval.

Hanoi is your best option, as they don’t require the 500k to be seasoned for a specific amount of time. Turnaround times are super quick , around 5 business days.

Anonymous participant 511 there's been several posts by people who were denied in hanoi for not having the money in their account for an adequate time...

Anonymous participant 810 is there proof of that in writing from the embassy, or is this just speculation from the person that was rejected?

Because I was approved there in early May, my 500k wasn’t seasoned for very long, around 2 weeks prior to applying

there’s a chance it gets declined. in theory you can try a various amount of embassy’s in nearby countries and one of them will accept you. it might happen on the first try. 340$ USD per application

You could just go to Cambodia and hang out there on the $300 year visa that can be extended for perpetuity

That visa will let you have the money seasoned for the 90 days as you wait to apply for the DTV visa
