Hey. Thought I'd share my experience, because the tips in this group were helpful and some of the requirements were strange, but actually true.
Applied for DTV for Soft-Power at Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin. (Northern Germany Resident)
Applied: 24. December
Approved: 15. January
Soft-Power: DiscoverThaiNature (Seminars)
and provided following documents on Christmas:
- Proof of current location: GoogleMapsGPS+Phone Bill
--> not accepted:
They requested Personalausweis (German ID) a few days later. Uploaded a Photo of it in hi-res (Scan app)
--> not accepted: they want you to use an old school Scanner, and see the Corners of the ID.
Used high DPI on scanner afterwards
Accepted
Same story with Biodata page of Passport
- Financial requirement: Local German Bank Account statement with over 14,000€ as .pdf with date and name (used their print function) -- there was no need to show last 3 months
Accepted
- Photo: I provided a 35x45mm Photo, done with a biometric app. Compressed the photo --> not accepted
Should be Photo studio quality (they actually tell you to do it at a local one). Took photo with biometric app again, uploaded in high-resolution uncompressed. Accepted
Activity: Provided the seminar activity document, which I received from DiscoverThaiNature
Accepted
All in all, processing took 3 weeks. But there were holidays in between and I didnt upload it immediately, so I guess it is more like 2 weeks. Even faster if everything is provided correctly.
Overall process was easy.
