Hi, the supporting documentation section is asking for proof of residency, does anyone know what document/s will suffice. I am a UK citizen living in the UK and applying online for the O - A retirement visa. ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the requirements for providing proof of residency for the O-A retirement visa application. One commenter suggests that a further copy of the passport may suffice as proof of residence, while noting potential file format issues in the online application process.

Proof of residence is a further copy of your passport. You might find one doc required is a PDF and the other is a JPEG but you will get an error message if you get the wrong one.

Ignore the box section that refers to residency.

That section only applys to Non UK passport holders that have leave to remain in the UK.

If you hold a UK passport, that is all that is required.

Back in June, when applying for a multiple O based on marriage (which became a single O) the same question about residency in Uk popped up. Not knowing what to do I uploaded a copy of my driving licence. It was never questioned.

@Geoff ******
it was discussed on another thread and they’d rung the Embassy and they’d said the passport was correct.

A letter from your local council stating your on the electoral register.

It will also have your address on it.

I just sent a copy of the page of the passport that states I am a resident. That was acceptable.

You’re welcome. We’ve just applied for the OA Visa from London for both my hubby & I. We’re both very computer literate and I feel quite sensible but it was a challenge at times! Hope it goes well for you.
