Hello everyone! I am going to apply for my work visa and then November for my Work permit. I have a spouse and baby - which will need to go on a non O visa. Which documentation do I need to have for them? Will I be able to apply for their non O visas under my work visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on the documentation required for their spouse and baby to apply for Non-O visas while they apply for a work visa and permit in Thailand. Comments provide clarification on the distinction between B visas and work permits and suggest that applications can be made through Thai embassies or consulates. There are also discussions about the implications of overstaying for children, with some suggesting that obtaining a visa for very young children may not be necessary.

Elani -- just for little clarification. The B Visa is for Business (not titled 'Work'), however it is intertwined with a Work Permit. In most cases the Non Immigrant B Visa is issued by a Thailand Embassy/Consulate. The Thai Labor Ministry issues the Work Permit. In the B Visa application process a person must have at least proof of a successful Work Permit Application - usually a type of receipt called a WP.1 or WP.3 ... This WP.1 or .3 Application / Receipt will generate a Labor Ministry Official Letter. These Labor Ministry documents must be attached to your B Visa Application at the Thai Embassy / Consulate outside of Thailand where you apply. There are other documents that must be provided too but mostly are related to your employer's company. You will supply copies of all pages of your passport in the B Visa Application with is for a Non Immigrant B Visa 90 days and proof of your University Education. After award of the B Visa you can later get an Extension of Stay based on the B Visa or you can get a Multi-Entry B Visa for one year which requires a Border Bounce (Border Run for an out and in stamp every 90 days. These last two options vary depending on how your employer handles the situation.

There are some variations on this entire B Visa / Work Permit process - but the process I just described is a very common method and sequence used.

Also - if others have corrections to my comments - then I will be pleased to stand corrected.

honestly if the baby is super small I wouldn't even fool with getting them a visa. Just let them overstay :O I know that sounds bad but children under 15 can't be charged for overstay, and children under 18 can't be banned for overstay either..

Are you going to apply for a Non Immigrant B visa at a Consulate or Embassy outside Thailand or are you going to apply for an Extension of Stay based on working at you local Immigration Office. There is no work visa.

To get a Non Immigrant B visa for working in Thailand in the region is strict, or you show your Work Permit or you show the WP 3 and a letter from the Ministry of Labor. This letter and WP3 form actually are proof that as soon as you come back in Thailand with a Non Immigrant B visa, you can collect your Work Permit. Without these confirmation about Work Permit it is almost impossible to get the Non Immigrant B visa.

No, your employer/school has to go to Ministry of Labor and apply for the Work Permit. You write he will do in November, but that means you have to wait till November to apply for a Non Immigrant B visa and till that time you can not work legally.

We already got my papers back from education department, approving my qualifications etc for visa - if this is what you are referring to?

As JD commented and not correctly mentioned on the checklist, but you need the WP 3 form (application is made for Work Permit from the Ministry of Labor) to get the Non Immigrant B visa Single Entry for 90 days.

you apply for the single entry 90 day Non-Os for your husband and baby at the same time you apply for your Non-B. You need a letter from your company stating it's okay for them to "piggy back' onto your visa..
