What documentation do I need for my children's passport separation when applying for a COVID extension in Thailand?

Hi Everyone,

When we arrived in Thailand on a visa exemption 15 months ago, both my children were on their mother's passport.

We are now separating the passports and the new ones will arrive around the 15th July. Our covid extension needs to be renewed on the 28th July.

Question:

Is there anything I need to do, documentation wise, to ensure that we have no issues at Counter K for our upcoming covid extension?

Thanks in advance for your help.

IF you can report back and let us know what happened.

AND in Bangkok these are the requirements to get stamps moved to a new passport, so making these copies ahead of time can't hurt

Since by the time the new passports arrive, we will be in the 45 day new visa application window, would you recommend we just go and do the extensions as soon as the passports arrive?

I will certainly report back with my results, hopefully it will help others.

These requirements are pretty much the same for the Covid extension.. which I will be doing on the 20th July. (Ours expires on the 28th July).

I'd take the letter from your consulate here stating you got the children their own passports and see what happens,

I mean the worst they will say is they won't move the stamps and that is fine too, because children under 15 can't get fined for overstay and children under 18 can't get banned.

the kids have their own TM6 etc. Just stamped in on their mum's passport.

I didn't know about those tidbits regarding kids 15 and 18 and under.

Thank you mate, you are a wealth of information.

How old were these children? AND why didn't they stamp in on their own passports?

I've never heard of children (except super small infants) piggybacking on their mother's passport

because initially the Vietnamese passport office said it would be "safer for my wife" if they added the kids in her passport.

Kids are 4 and 7. We were on our way back to VN to get their passports done when they closed their borders.

Kids are allowed to on their mothers passport till they are 10.
