I just went to BKK MTT Counter K to get my 60 day Covid visa extension...

3 hours total, just managed to get out before lunch break.

(They actually seemed to be trying to get through everyone that was already in the main hall fairly quickly, before lunch break - which was nice for a change!)

New queuing system which was a bit hap-hazard, so pay attention, even if you've been before!

Come back to close the loop Dec 7th.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post details the author's experience at the BKK MTT Counter K while applying for a 60-day extension of their Covid visa. They mention the necessity of bringing certain documentation, including signed copies of passport pages, TM forms, and a COVID-19 Affidavit. The discussion in the comments revolves around the required documents, the TM30 system, and experiences shared by others regarding their visa extensions.

your tm 30 may have been handled without your know fyi. They could have looked you up, saw a few bkk addresses from hotels on various tm 30 and said good enough. Or have you been in other places alot outside bkk. These details are more helpful than you know to some of the experts on here

we've been all over Thailand..

Not sure how the system works, but I doubt they have the info 🤷🏻‍♂️

The TM 30 System is used throughout the country, and any immigration office can bring up a person's TM30 history.

did you need proof of an appointment with immigration and a copy of your email to your embassy asking for and being denied a letter?

they checked proof of appt, and looked for name on email to match with passport 👍🏼

@Marty ******
what about embassy? Did you have to show even an email saying no letters are being issued?

nope... But I think they are fairly informed about which countries will / won't issue... I had this printed out, but never needed to show it.

@Marty ******
ok so had embassy rejection, but did not show proof. How many days had you been in bkk before you applied? Were you at hotel (or other place that registed at tm30 without your knowledge) or at a friends place or some where that did not

where is your real registered address in Thailand?

Was a TM 30 filed for that address?

You appear worried about your obtaining approval for an extension.

You are to make any application for an extension of stay at the immigration office where you have a valid TM 30 recordes as your registered address in Thailand.

I'm sorted now with a closed loop, extended to end of Jan. I would agree that tm 30 has to say bkk now or mtt will not take an application. I had to escalate my situation to the manager of tm 30 and the manager of counter k. They worked out a one off exception for me due to unique circumstances.

happy it worked out for you 😊
Brian **********
Yes. I doubt my situation could be replicated. Everyone needs to make sure their tm 30 is in order. It's being checked if your aware or not. The condition of taking my application was to find a solution to fix my tm 30 after the application, move if I have to, so it doesn't happen again.

If the TM30 was not asked, then it wasn't asked. The immigration office wouldn't have pulled it up to confirm.

I don't exactly agree with you after my experience with the tm 30 drama. They immigration staff will look at the computer and check for a bkk address instead of asking for proof of tm 30 with the application. It was a huge hassle to get the computer updated to say bkk in my case. I also showed no proof of tm 30, but received an extension after the computer system said bkk. In the past they seemingly ignored where the computer said you were in bkk. Manager of tm 30 told me there has been a change in policy on that and they stopped ignoring this

staying at hotel. Arrived night before MTT appt.

What is the “COVID 19 Affidavit”?

@Matt *******
you can also recieve all 3 forms mentioned at MTT. All we brought were copies of our first stamp from when we arrived, 1 copy of our most recent extention stamps, copy of passport picture page, copy of our lease just in case.

We did not get asked about our TM 6, or TM30 and we have been approved for the 60 days. Of course must come back in 15 days to get the stamp.

Yep! We entered on a VOA beginning March.

@Marty ******
actually you didn't enter on a visa on arrival but on a 30 day visa exempt entry BUT what documentation did you use this time to get the extension seeing as the UK embassy doesn't issue the letter anymore.
Tod *********
If you were at counter K it means you'd come into the country on a 30 day visa exempt entry back before the lock down at the end of March. :)

Can you quickly go over the documentation they required you to present to apply for that extension?

Thanx for the update. (y)
