ORIGINAL POSTER
Received my approved non immigrant o visa this morning but when I looked at the email , it said it was valid from the 25 th June when I received the mail. It says it is valid for 3 months until the 23 rd September. My flight is on 4 th August. I am hoping that means that the application is valid for 3 months and I will get a 3 month visa stamp at immigration at Bangkok airport. Can anyone tell me if this is correct ? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received a Non-Immigrant O visa, valid from June 25 to September 23, and seeks clarification on its validity and duration concerning entry into Thailand. Community responses confirm that the visa allows entry within that validity period, and upon entry, the user will receive a visa stamp indicating the duration of stay, typically 90 days from entry.

Sorry Jeremy to piggy back on your post, here it is FB, not a structure as Discussion Boards maintain.

Even if I have yellow book, Immigration document of my residence in Thai, to open a bank account with a Thai bank, I need to have a Thai mobile phone number? I would have it but that is a tourist SIM bought at the airport. Until I get a pensioner visa.

Yes. That is how every visa in every country I've visited works. There is the visa validity date, which means you have until then to enter the country. This is separate from the duration of stay which the visa grants from the day you enter.

@Wylie ******
actually Thailand has Visas that start ticking down as soon as they are issued. So it's actually a good question to ask.
Wylie *******
@Chris ******
thank you for the clarification. I'm curious as to what visas are like that so I know for any future comments? I should've been a bit more specific and specified every visa I've gotten, and was aware of, in every country I've been to. I'm always open to being corrected and learning.

@Wylie ******
DTV, METV for a couple of them. Mostly multientry visas.

@Chris ******
aghh yes. I forgot about the METV, which I did get but entered just a few days before they closed the country down for covid. So I never actually had the chance to even use it since they just kept granting amnesty to anyone already in country.
Chris *******
Yes no worries.. meaning you must entry between the both dates
Jim *******
@Chris ******
And stay whatever is left from the date of visa approval? Even if only a few days?
Chris *******
@Jim ******
the day of entry in the country you ll get a 90 stamps with the last day you must leavr
Jim *******
@Chris ******
Is it then 90 days from the day of entry while the visa is valid?

Yes
Stuart *********
Yes. Most visas are valid for 90 days from issue.

On entry you’ll get stamped in for the number of days the visa allows.

@Stuart ********
90 days to enter Thai or 90 days to enter Thai and stay up to 90 days once in Thai?

If my "O" visa is approved July 1. 2025. and I enter Thai August 1. 2025. do I have only 60 days of the validity of that visa? Or 90 days after entering Thai?
John **********
@Jim ******
90 days to enter, and once you enter you get stamped in for 90 days from that point
Chris *******
@Jim ******
you get 90 days on entry. You have 90 days to use the visa.
Jim *******
@Chris ******
90 days to use the visa. Not 90 days to enter Thai on that visa and stay for 90 days?
Chris *******
@Jim ******
the visa is valid for 90 days from issuance, when you enter during those 90 days you will receive 90 days when you enter, regardless.
