I'm currently in Thailand but back in the UK for 2 weeks in October and wish to apply for a DTV (I'm a UK citizen) - just trying to get my ducks in a row ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Will a monzo statement be OK? Does the money have to be in your regular account or will a savings pot be ok? If I submit my paperwork before hand - will the 2 weeks be sufficient? Also, still undecided on whether to do the soft power or remote work option. I'm doing muay Thai anyway and can get a sponsered letter and can work remotely with a contract if needed- what's a better option for success? Thanks for any support. ๐น๐ญ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK citizen, seeks advice on applying for a DTV visa while in Thailand and preparing for a brief return to the UK. They inquire whether a Monzo bank statement is acceptable, the necessary conditions for the funds' source, the sufficiency of a two-week processing timeline, and the best visa option between soft power and remote work, given their involvement in muay Thai and potential sponsorship. Community responses emphasize the importance of having funds in an accessible account, suggest that Monzo should be acceptable, and advise that while a two-week timeline might be tight for application processing, users have reported approval within short durations. Recommendations include opting for the remote work route to avoid continuous membership costs for gyms.
You can contact to this muaythai school, itโs muaythai school under Thailand education ministry , can support both DTV or ED visa by themselves paperwork. Facebook: Chiangmai Muay Thai Gym or IG: chiangmaimuaythaigym (website:

Go for the remote working option. It will stand up to 5 years scrutiny, especially if your remote working is ongoing

I applied about 10pm Thursday night, asked for more info Monday morning. Sent that off Tuesday (I needed a document from my work)and accepted on Thursday morning.
I had the money in a cash ISA but just as a normal bank statement.
Was very simple and easy

I suggest you fill out your application and save it while you still in Thailand and submit it as soon as you land in the UK

I applied in the UK and was approved in 3 working days, even with extra documents requested. Youโll be fine.
Monzo should be ok even the savings pot as long as itโs instant access.
Theres a slight chance 2 weeks wonโt be enough to process the application.
Mine took 4, from Cambodia though.

You have to be in the UK when you submit your application. UK often requests copies of your boarding pass and if it doesnโt line up with submission details, it could be an issue

UK often approves within 7 business days. 500k should be in a personal instant accessible account. Workcation option is best option as you do not need to pay to renew gym membership. Monzo is licensed in the UK so will be ok.
