How long does my bank balance need to be maintained before applying for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)?

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m planning to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) under the Soft Power (Muay Thai) category. I've had the 500K THB in my bank account for about three weeks now — but I've heard mixed things about how long the funds actually need to sit there before applying. 🤔

Am I good to go, or do I need to wait longer? Also, I’m currently trying to figure out if I’d have a better shot applying from Vietnam or Laos — any advice on which option might be smoother?

Appreciate any insights — and if anyone’s already navigated this process successfully, you’re basically my new hero. 🙏 (Seriously, I’ll owe you a beer… or a Muay Thai training session.) 🍻🥊

Thanks in advance! 😎

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the application process for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) under the Soft Power category, specifically regarding how long the required 500,000 THB must be maintained in their bank account before applying. They are also seeking advice on whether it would be easier to apply from Vietnam or Laos. Commenters suggest that while requirements vary by embassy, applicants have reported success with shorter holding periods for funds, and recommend checking specific embassy requirements for the most accurate information.

3 months in the group, dozens upon dozens of posts with approval reports from successful applicants at various embassies and documents supplied. Do your research.

just thankyou I have been looking through the group sometime but the gym I'm using is a very big and reputable one and they bosss there has processed many successful applications , she told me the final balance should be most important and a few weeks before for the 500k in the bank woukd be sufficient however I've been researching this for a while and I find a lot of contradicting information .. so i made the post just to try get a little more insight as its a big deal for me very sorry if my post upset you

all that is very true, the landscape is changing fast. Personally I'd ensure at least 3 months of the full 500K balance, and if I didn't I'd be extremely careful which embassy I'd choose. Again, do your research depending on your circumstances, which appears to be the money has been seasoned less than a month. No your post doesn't upset me at all, I encourage you to research more with pen in hand and make the best choice you can.

Some from my Muay Thai camp got approved from 5 days 500,000 baht in Vietnam & Indonesia (they however uploaded 3& 6 months statements but the final balance is just more than 500,000 baht. No problem :)
