Hello - I have the letter from my Embassy + necessary documents looking to extend for 30 days. (1 -5 on the pic that has gone viral)

1 ) I am on overstay . Are there additional forms that I need to print and bring with me ? I am trying to go in with everything and hit this out with one swing .

2 ) I live in Bangkok. I have been suggested to go to Chaeng Wattana Section J for extension - is this correct // what time do you recommend getting there? I'm thinking 6am...

3 ) I am in the process of trying to find a copy / printer but my building does not have one // everything is closed - worse case scenario , I can take a number and then wait in line to make copies?

Thanks in advance .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on extending their stay in Thailand due to an overstay situation. They are asking for advice on necessary documents, the correct office to visit (Chaeng Wattana), tips on timing, and procedures concerning cancellations of previous extensions and overstay fines. Community members suggest specific steps to rectify the overstay, including canceling the extension at the Chaeng Wattana office before applying for an emergency extension due to COVID-19.

I'd say go out there with everything you have, GO to the section where you were lead to by the agency and signed paperwork and got your picture taken and see if you can cancel your extension :( Then pay the overstay, then apply for the emergency extension. You're trying to do things out of sequence...

okay , thank you

The good news is IF you're on an extension of stay you DO go to Chaengwattana (to the section where you got your extension before) to cancel it AND to apply for the "unable to travel due to covid-19" extension. (y)

The bad news is seeing as your work permit expired on the 31st of March you will pay overstay from that date until you actually cancel your extension in your passport (no matter what date the extension is good until) because once the work permit expired your ability to have that extension stopped. :( So right now you're on an 8 day overstay of 4000 baht. :O

yah yah yah im aware of the overstay fees + extension - my agency gave me a bunch of wrong information . but to be proactive and move forward, my agency wants to cancel my work permit for me . i cant just take all of the extension documents into chaeng wattana and apply ?

you're going to have to cancel your current extension of stay, PAY the 500 baht a day overstay fine from the date your work permit was cancelled and THEN apply for the "unable to travel due to covid" extension after that.

If you've been working here then you know the drill, you take the receipt that your work permit is cancelled along with your termination papers from your company to the immigration office to the section that you got your extension of stay from, you cancel that extension THEN you can apply for the emergency "unable to travel due to covid-19" extension with the embassy letter

my agency has handled everything up until this point so i do not know the drill thus i am asking - they've always just brought me in and have me sit with them . when you say extension are you talking about the 90 day report?

Did you BUY a tourist visa to thailand from a thai consulate BEFORE you showed up here and were stamped in for 60 days when you arrived?

ive been here with a work permit - extension of stay based on employment . work permit expired on march 31st .

If the answer to that question is YES, and you DID buy a tourist visa before you came and you were stamped in for 60 days when you arrived you DO go to Chaengwattana Section J.
