TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that no countries near Thailand will accept a passport with less than 6 months validity. Several countries, including Myanmar, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Laos, Indonesia, and Malaysia, require at least six months' validity from the date of entry. Additionally, a Thai consulate requires a passport to have six months' validity to purchase a visa, however, one can enter Thailand if the stay duration is less than the validity of the passport.

And on that note, I believe the O/P has all the answers she needs to make an educated decision. :)

Good Luck

There's a simple answer to that and all following questions. NO!

, (y) Yep, good point. A regular US passport takes about 10 days to get but they can issue a 1 year temporary one faster..

Thank you two , I have some reasons not easy to tell . The best way for this monument is not back own country and the emergency in Thailand also is a problem , can not get new passport

I'm not talking about an emergency travel document. I'm talking about a whole new passport. My Embassy (Belgium) issues new passports within 15 days normal procedure for about 80 EURO but you can ask for an emergency 24 hrs and pay 220 EURO. I'm sure other countries also do this.

@Val***
, I don't think an emergency travel document can work, because those are usually only good for travel back to your country.

Why don't you go to your Embassy and get a new passport? If it is urgent you can apply for urgent issue within 24 hours. Most countries supply this for their citizens at an extra fee.

Some countries don't have the 6 month rule, just none in S/E Asia :/ .

Thank you anyway

I googled around and it seems Burma (Myanmar), China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Laos, Indonesia and Malaysia require six months' validity from the date of entry.

If you're wanting to go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and BUY a visa for thailand you're going to be out of luck :/

A passport has to have a 6 month validity to buy a visa from a thai consulate. You can enter thailand on a passport that's valid for less than that though. As long as the amount of time you'd get stamped in for is less than that of your passport you can stamp in.
