TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is inquiring about the sufficiency of their passport validity for a trip to Thailand. They have 6 months and 2 days of validity when entering Thailand, but less than 6 months when departing back to the UK. Comments suggest that while entry may be permitted due to adequate validity at arrival, airlines might have stricter rules, and some recommend renewing the passport to avoid potential issues.

You should be fine to be admitted into Thailand. But your airline may have serious question. Ask your airline NOW.

Should be fine if arriving with more than 6 months and not intending to stay long term (an exiting flight itinerary will help with that) BUT they may question it.

You can still enter UK on an expired UK passport

You are ok to enter if you have a full six months validity from your date of arrival, it's fairly international, l am a retired travel agent

I will quote from Timatic (the book used by all airlines) ... october 2019 edition.

"Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date"

"British passports must be valid for the period of intended stay"
