I think I have found my answer reading old posts and it seems that Robert and Todd commented on both. I am currently on a non immigrant b visa. An as I have read Robert has stated that once your visa is up you are on an extension and your work permit lets you say with the extension. So for what I have read from most of the moderators or the ppl that usually say the most here is that I will have to get a new visa (yes this means leaving the country) I know under these circumstance things are changing and the best way is to go in and ask. I have seen only things about changing from a non b visa to an education visa but for a Thai language school, but i will be attending Uni. I have looked at many Thai official consulate website and have found one document not on their website. Yes I do know the university will help and all of this but want to be prepared and try to get as much information as possible. My question is there anyone that can share a link on a check list of what you need to change visa’s inside of Thailand? I have found the checklist for the education visa. Before the keyboard warriors start. I have researched all of this I just want a link with a check list if there is one, I called the immigration in bkk with no luck of an answer and will be visiting my local one tomorrow as well.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently on a Non-Immigrant B visa, seeks a checklist for changing to an education visa while attending a university in Thailand. They mention previous discussions with members who noted the need to cancel their current visa extension based on employment before applying for the education extension. Assistance was requested to find a specific checklist, as they have researched but require additional clarity, especially after struggling to reach immigration for information.

nope, sorry there are 70+ immigration offices in the country and they are all run like their own kingdom. :(

I'd certainly talk to your university FIRST before you talk to the immigration office (unless you're gonna be speaking thai with them). AND

talk to your employer about getting the documents that you need to cancel your extension based on employment (you can't just let it run out)

Don't forget you need to cancel your work permit before you go cancel your extension.

It's gonna take coordination from your soon to be former employer, your university and the immigration office to be able to cancel the extension based on employment and apply for a new one based on education.

Good Luck with it, (y)

Thanks again. Yes I will always cancel it. I have before even though being informed by an employer that told me to just let it run out. I have changed a tourist visa once but my employer did it all. This explains why I can not find anything not to mention that most of the links don’t usually work. I have to deal with a couple different immigrations since they are not in the same city/province. But thanks for the help as always.

If you're on an extension of stay based on employment you MIGHT <- (as in totally depending on your university AND the immigration office you're dealing with) be able to cancel your current extension of stay based on employment and immediately apply for an extension based on education.

All you'd be doing is changing the reason for your extension from employment to education AND it can definitely be done

thank you. You have always been much help. I am going to immigration today to see what documents are needed. This is what I needed clarification on. Also do you have a link for these documents or maybe a check list?

So you are on the original 90 day entry of a Non-B VISA or are you on a yearly extension based on employment from the immigration office?
