I'm on a non imm ed visa on my initial 90 days (halfway through) and getting my paperwork ready for my first extension of stay. I can't find detailed information about the required documents on the bangkok immigration website. My university provided me with all the documents required from the university but there is no document from the ministry of education whatsoever. Can someone help me find a reliable and useful source of where to find a list of the required documents or help me check the list? Also when is a good time to go to immigration, I've read that between 45 and 30 days before expiration it should be done (90 days end on dec17). Thanks a lot

Does anyone know about Bangkok immigration? When is it best to apply for extension of stay?

Anytime between 45days before and your stamps expiration date. This group would recommend you go to apply for your extension several days earlier in case any additional documents required. Or go to the immigration office to get hand out of requirements to check in advance..

I'm guessing this is a university degree, right?

I'm assuming the school gave you all the documents you need.

Each immigration office has their own requirements for the documents required to get the extension of stay based on being a student.

You can read the requirements for Bangkok's immigration from their website at

(point 9).

Each immigration office has their own policy on how soon you can renew. Some allow you to renew it 45 days in advance, other's 30.

thanks a lot for the link, it is really helpful. I'm not sure whether my university can be considered an international school but it certainly is "of higher education" as stated in 9.4.
