What is the required document for a Non-Immigrant B Visa application when teaching at a government school in Thailand?

Hello.

I have a question about one of the requirements listed for a Non-Immigrant B application processed through the Thai E-Visa website. I am a U.S. citizen applying for an E-Visa in the United States for the purpose of teaching in Thailand.

The requirement I have some questions about is the school/university license or registration. In my research, I’ve noticed that the Immigration Bureau in Thailand, where I’d change my Tourist Visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa if I was already in Thailand, has separate requirements for government schools/universities vs private schools/universities. The private schools/universities sections lists a requirement of a “license for establishment of the academic institute”. However, the government schools/universities section does not have this requirement. The E-Visa website does not separate requirements for government schools/universities from private schools/universities. Which means that one of the required documents I need to submit is a license or registration for my school.

The school I will be teaching at has been very helpful in preparing all of the documents I need for the Visa process, however they are unsure of what the license/registration document is. Can someone please let me know if this type of document exists for government schools in Thailand? If so, who issues this document for government schools and is there a more specific name for the document so I can inform my school.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

-Brian

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the specific documentation needed for a Non-Immigrant B Visa application when teaching at a government school in Thailand. They are uncertain about the requirement for a license or registration, especially since the E-Visa website does not differentiate between government and private institutions. A comment suggests contacting the consulate directly for assistance.

It seems like asking the consulate would be the best option.

Message them through Facebook based on the specific consulate you applied to, as they are notoriously bad at answering phones or replying to e-mails.

Thank you for this suggestion!

After reaching out to the consulate, they shared in Thai what I can message to my school to help explain what the license/registration document is. I’ll share below what they sent to me. Hopefully this can help anyone having the same issue as me.
