TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed confusion regarding the process of obtaining a retirement extension in Thailand after experiencing issues due to a previously cancelled ED extension. Other community members clarified that the immigration officers at the airport don't handle visa extensions, causing the initial misunderstanding. Okay, I think it's sorted out now that he was talking about the immigration officers at PASSPORT control at Suvarnabhumi Airport (airport code BKK) that had a problem NOT the immigration officers out at Chaengwattana when he got the extension.

We're done. (y)

The problem IS, while the people who stamp passports at the ports of entry are indeed immigration officers, they don't know anything about extensions of stays (seeing as they are NOT at an immigration office, but at a port of entry and you don't get extensions from them :O )

Glad you got it sorted out
