What are the requirements for extending a retirement visa in Thailand based on monthly income?

At CW this morning for a Retirement extension based on monthly income. Currency is US$, the IO wanted the book bank updated today, this can only be done at Silom Head Office. Couldn't get her to understand that the current balance has nothing to do with the monthly income requirement. Sad! TM30 first thing she asked for.
