Good morning all. Apologies if this question was asked before.

Currently we have single entry tourist visas (SA Passport holders),

We will be flying to Kuala Lampur in the next week or 2 and return with ED and guardian visa. 

Do we still need to apply for a re-entry permit before we leave Thailand?

OR use a different consulate that issues them in the normal time frame (turn it in one morning, pick it up the next afternoon). Like Penang Malaysia or Vientiane Lao.

I wouldn't even waste the time fooling with KL at all.

And are you 100% sure that Kuala Lumpur will issue visas to South African passport holders?

people were recently denied there even though they had the correct documentation because they held a passport from South Africa.

Just to be safe (as in don't trust the school at all unless you're sitting there when they call the consulate) I would have your school call that consulate and confirm that you can get the visas you want there.

basically what I said is that for SA passport holders it's a no no. I have a friend from SA who is flying back to SA as we speak

, please use English so all can understand, thanks. I posted the link to the pdf of the website that SA passport holders can not apply there 3 days ago. You can take a look at the link and advice your SA friends not to go to KL.

You only use a re-entry permit if you want to keep your current Admitted to Stay alive when return. You go for a new Visa so no re-entry permits needed.
