What can I expect when arriving at Pattaya airport with a DTV visa?

Have read many comments about DTV holders being questioned in BKK and DMK. Personally, was never questioned much in any of these locations.

Am planning to arrive at Pattaya airport (UTP). Has anyone got any experience arriving at this airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Experiences of travelers arriving in Thailand on a DTV visa vary significantly. Some individuals reported being questioned at major airports like BKK and DMK, while others mentioned having no questions asked at all, including at Phuket airport. The consensus suggests that while it's possible to be asked about visa details and proof of funds or accommodation, many travelers successfully pass through immigration without any inquiries. It is advisable to be prepared with relevant documentation, although individual experiences can differ.

I think very few people post about that and then everybody thinks it’s a lot.

Also, you have to remember that these people have a history of border bouncing Thailand for years usually and then they applied for this visa so they have every right to question them and their motives and it’s most likely these people that are being questioned

There’s always a chance you’ll be asked questions, whether you’re holding a visa or entering under a tourist exemption; that’s the immigration officer’s job. The most important thing is that you can prove you’re on the correct visa at the time you cross the border. If you can, you won’t have any issues. And yes, it’s rare, but it can happen. I’ve done over 60 exits and only got serious questions twice, no redflag, with the same legit visa for years. When people say they didn’t get any questions after 1, 2, 3, or even 5 entries, it doesn’t really mean much...

It's immigrations job to question you and make sure you still meet the criteria of the DTV, always have funds available to show and proof of whichever activity you choose or work evidence paper to hand so your fine, if you follow the rule and do everything correctly nothing to worry about, try winging it and yes will get caught out and possibly denied and visa cancelled, all access into Thailand is at discretion of the immigration officer in front of you

Last Wednesday I arrived in BKK from Bali, after staying in Thailand since October. I prepared some documents, like Bank statement, work contract... in case the IO would ask. 2 guys in front of me were asked many things like flight return, prove of accomodation... But when came my turn the IO just looked my Visa and stamped another 180 days. I think it depends. They may ask or not. It is better be prepared.

One of 100 or one of 200 is getting interviewed, that's just how it is, it's the same at western airports, you just have to prepare for all possible questions related to your Visa application and in general purpose of stay in thailand and then just go for it
