What has been the recent experience with entering Thailand on a DTV visa?
Hi all, I entered Thailand again this morning after 5 months outside of the country. I entered through Don Muang and zero question asked. 6 months stamped.
The immigration officer juste said 2 words: « hello » and « fingerprints ». That’s it.
Some people here are making things more stressful than they should be, I think.

Exactement! the same experience I had last Friday but at Suvarnabhumi. Yeah, some are OTT with their entry experience for sure.

there must be an over emphasize on those rare cases being further questioned. While the vast majority with no problem whatsoever doesn’t come to report their story. In French we say « trains that are late are more noticed than those on time ». That is why I wanted to bring some balance here.

That is a great saying. There is no major issue of DTV entry, there are some cases of entry problems for sure but nothing concerning like some make out. Next year will be the 3rd yr of the DTV .LavenderD*********
while that is the case for most of us DTV-holders, there are additional screenings for some. Randomly or not, I don't know. But it happened to my friend in May, he got pulled over and questioned for a while before they let him enter.
It's not all that clear and easy for everyone, but as long as you answer truthfully and show your visa and whatever else they ask, there shouldn't be any problems.

OPLavenderDragon7301 yes I do believe they are quite rare. And also I think when you are honest and clean, you should get through even after some -rare- questioning.

I have heard of a few border rejections for entering Thailand before DTV was approved. One was advised badly by an agent, a well known law form in Bkk and posted about it on TikTok. I think 99.9 % is questions and let in.LavenderD*********
