First time entry in BKK next week with my DTV.

Hello I am must say that I am fuite stressed with all I read.

I will be entering for the first time next week with my DTV (French passeport).

Should I have 20 000THB or equivalent in euros ?

Should I book a return flight ?

Should I expect IOs to question me ?
Answer summary
The user is anxious about their upcoming entry into Thailand with a DTV visa, seeking advice on cash requirements, return flight bookings, and potential immigration questioning. Most community responses suggest it is advisable to have some cash (around 20,000 THB or equivalent), though many individuals shared their experiences of entering without issues, advising that having the DTV visa printout and possibly a return flight may ease the process. The consensus is that while there may be questions from immigration, they are usually straightforward and not a cause for concern.

You have a French passport and it's the first entry. You have almost nothing to worry about with immigration.

If it's your first time you might get questioned, but nobody can say for sure. They just ask simple questions about what you're doing, if it's workcation or soft power, etc. It's not a big deal.

Have 20k baht equivalent in cash to show just in case.

No return flight necessary.

Don't pay for fastback. If asked have some cash book a flight bus or something in 180 days and have a place to sleep

IndigoPomelo2866 Many people undergo another check by immigration after landing; this usually happens if they have a very unusual entry history in the past.

It doesn't hurt to carry some cash, especially if you're from a poor 3rd-world country like me. I've never been asked for it though, but always carry USD 1k just in-case, and since it's in USD, it doesn't take much space in my wallet.

You get questions and send back if you follow the given advice.

Every foreigner needs next to the passport and the visa, the TDAC.

You can apply for FREE within 72 hours before arrival

the last one i went through was female. She wasn’t any different than any of the other guys. Maybe some of these guys having issues just look suspicious, dressing like a bunch of bums trying to come into the airport.

I entered 10 days ago, very easy going process, no questions, just showed the printed DTV visa letter and showed it.

I had return ticket and accomodation that he didnt ask to check though.

Less than 1 min on counter, very fast.
