TLDR : Answer Summary
A Polish citizen living in the UK is struggling to bring his Thai girlfriend to Poland as her visa application has been refused by the Polish consulate. He seeks advice on appealing the decision, but there are complications regarding the appeal process and the necessity for documentation. Several commenters suggest preparing stronger supporting documents, such as a detailed invitation and proof of the relationship, while others debate the issue's underlying reasons, including potential discrimination.

I got a visa for my girl to com on holiday to Spain and in effect the same visa.

You need proof of monthly support ie you give her money every month. She has to have a job and not in sex industry. She also needs land and family in village to want to come back to Thailand.

The main thing is you need lots of money to be able to support her. Lots of proof together and photos with no Alcohol in photos

if you live outside your country it makes things a bit more difficult, even if the situation is genuine. As someone mentioned, with you living between UK and Thailand, the embassy might just be confused on why she should go to Poland. Get your family living in Poland to invite her to Poland. And you add your name/ letters and reasons to their invitation showing proof of the relationship. Good luck !

I’m a polish citizen. Live and work in 🇬🇧 . I have a house in Poland and all my family.

If you want to take her to Poland then I don’t think that will be an issue under Schengen. If you want to bring her to the UK rather than your home country then she will be treated the same as any other Thai.

@Leszek ********
ok then as said she should go to another EU embassy and ask for a Schengen visa Bulgaria is pretty quick or Italy. Book a pay on arrival hotel in Italy and then you can meet her there. I used to do that. You won’t get a visa for UK sadly at present.

Leszek, did she apply at the Polish Embassy in
@B**
? Does she have a stamp inside the passport saying "Applied for Visa"? This is just another way to say that she was denied. If not she could still apply for a Schengen Visa in another Embassy and then travel on to Poland.
Michael ***********
for example.... plan a tourist trip to Rome/Italy, make some Hotel bookings (you could cancel), go to the Italian Embassy for Shengen Visa, as the Holyday is in Italy, so Italian Embassy will issue the visa. After you got the Visa you can travel all around Europe.

Russell *******
What is the reason for refusal?
Jarkko *********
@Leszek ********
Ok. Let's start from that.. You are at UK. Divorced and applying a visa for thai to Poland. Correct so far?
Jarkko *********
@Leszek ********
You don't deserve this but I am in a friendly mood... File another visa application at thai embassy in UK. State that you are currently working there and apply visa for thai to visit Poland together. Add the divorce document. Give embassy a reasonable plan on what happens after the poland visit! Where you go? What you do? Where she go? At least she must go! There cannot be no "what if's", unless stated that you will get married and apply for permit of residence in Poland...or UK..

As I said before! I’ve done everything. To get documentation from Poland cost me fortune. Letters from Poland to Thailand and England to Thailand as well. Lawyer forced me to have any paperwork in a world . He said in his 30 years history is first time ( he never deal with Poles obviously) Sad. I have a ofer for you. I provide phone number to them and you will see how they are . Deal?
Jarkko *********
@Leszek ********
I don't understand, what documentation is this, that you have payed for?? And what is the reason for using a lawyer? And that lawyer is from where? Poland?
Peter ****************
And specially beCAUSE it's a bit confusing, you have to prepare carefully. Invitation letter with explaination of your situation and reasons she has to go back. Some kind of guarantee letter of your income and you give her a place to stay and financially support her. Phone number that the Embassy can reach you 24h. Photo's of you both. How older the better. Etc etc. I even then got the tip that she dresses properly going to the Embassy. I know many people here who got refused a Schengen visa and surely not only Polish Embassy. Many refusals happen that people are too quick without 110% preparation. And yes, as said here; main reason is proving she goes back.
Leszek *********

@Russell ******
they said : no genuine legitimate reason for her to go to Poland.
Russell *******

in other words they don't believe her . What was her reason for going on the application?

Usually with schengen (EU) visa, they don't specify the reason. Mostly it's because of a doubt of person not returning back home.

Getting a visa has nothing to do with being nice or asshole. They just want / need a reason for invitee to return home, after the planned visit is over.

What ever the situation...the reason to return, is the most important thing. Also, usually there is no such thing as appeal against denied visa. The way is to apply again with better documentation and precise plan for visit. If still denied, one should practise common sense and ask if there might be some other issues, untold.
