TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the visa requirements for a 2-month stay in Kota Bharu, Thailand. Key points raised include the necessity of a passport, bank statement showing 100,000 Baht, a flight out within 60 days or an acceptable hotel booking in another country, and proof of address in Thailand. Clarifications indicate that embassies and consulates require bank statements, while immigration may ask for cash or traveler's checks upon entry. There's mention of varying requirements based on location, with references to a recent experience in Vientiane where proof of address was not needed.

No. Embassys and consulates want bank statements. Cash or cards are not accepted. Immigration entering Thailand want to see cash or travellers cheques. Bank statements or credit cards are not accepted.
Application form and 2 photos. Plus photocopy of passport, which you can get the relevant pages done inside the consulate for 20 Baht. Don't use the touts outside. As they don't want proof of address you get just put any hotel down on the form.
