Hi! What's the latest on needing proof of a flight out of Thailand for a tourist visa from the embassy in Kuala Lumpur?

I've been hearing different things and would prefer to not be planning three months ahead if possible.

Has anyone been recently, without proof of exit (after 60/90 days) and not been asked for it? Thank you!

Answer summary

The latest information regarding the need for proof of a flight out of Thailand for a tourist visa at the Kuala Lumpur embassy indicates that applicants should be prepared to provide this documentation. One comment suggests always having a backup flight reservation ready, while another points out that the embassy's official checklist clearly lists a copy of the return ticket confirmation as a requirement.

Always be prepared for them to ask for it. Find a cheap promo ticket.

KL is using a checklist that you can download from their website. Point 5 is A copy of reservation/confirmation of return ticket to and from Thailand.

I don't know. I posted the checklist. I would say if you go there prepare yourself, people do like to tell many things, but will not help you if you got stuck there without a visa.

I'm confused why I've been hearing people haven't had them and haven't been asked for them. I always though KL needed them.
