What do we need to show for obtaining a 60-day Thai visa as we cycle through Asia?

We're a couple cycling through Asia. Now in Penang, Malaysia about to get a first Thai visa. We like to get the 60 day visa so we don't need to rush all the way to Cambodia. We got our exit flight booking and first hotel booked, plus all the other over-the-top stuff like bank note. We think of going via Wang kelian. Do we need to show all the cash? And do you need to show bookings for hotels for the whole duration of your stay?? 2 months worth of bookings?
