Hello All ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m just about to cross into Malaysia from the islands in Thailand to apply for my Tourist Visa from the embassy.

I was originally planning my journey to the Thai Embassy in Penang, however I have just discovered there is an embassy in Kota Bharu, Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

Could anyone who has had gone through Kota Bharu please share your experience with:

A: Travel

B: Embassy

C: Kota Bharu as a destination?

Penang journey vs Kota Bharu?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking insights on applying for a Thai Tourist Visa at the embassy in Kota Bharu, Malaysia, compared to Penang. Comments suggest that while Kota Bharu is considered a dull destination, the Thai consulate there is efficient for visa applications. Penang is recommended as a better travel destination, worth a 2-3 day visit, whereas an overnight stay in Kota Bharu is advised.

Kota Bharu is pretty dull as a destination, but the Thai consulate is a good choice for getting a Thai visa. An overnight stay of no more than one night is compulsory.

Kota Bharu is on the east coast of Malaysia < Penang on the west>

Penang on its own is a great destination, good for 2-3 days

KB just another town, overnight and leave
