Update: had a good experience crossing the border from Thanaleng (Laos) back to Nong Khai. We didn’t do a border run exactly, we stayed for 5 days (Also surprised about Vientiane, its a nice place if you want to take a break from busy Bangkok). IO didn’t asked questions, everything went very fast and easy. If you already have 2 visa exempt I suggest to do a border run through Nong Khai - Laos.

Hello,

I have a question about crossing land border between Nongkhai to Laos. Me and my boyfriend are Dutch and we both entered Thailand twice by air since October ‘22 (2 times visa exempt). Our current visa exempt is till January 14th. We are thinking about doing our first border run from Nongkhai to Laos, because we haven’t set a date for our return flight (probably end of February). I think if we enter Thailand by air again the immigration officer at the airport will ask us questions about our stay in Thailand and probably need to show a outbound flight.

Do you think we can do a border run for a new visa exempt without any problems?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a user's successful border crossing from Thanaleng, Laos back to Nong Khai, Thailand, detailing a good experience with the immigration officer and sharing tips for doing a border run. They describe having entered Thailand twice before on visa exemption and are considering another border run to extend their stay without complications. The comments provide reassurance that Nong Khai is a favorable crossing point with anecdotal experiences backing the ease of the process, while also mentioning potential additional requests such as vaccination certificates during entry.

My friend from Denmark has crossed a couple of times, last was just before Christmas, however they may ask you to show vaccination certificate, they asked my friend then said if he doesn't have it they will let him back into Thailand for 1,000 baht, just chasing tea money, he could show it so they missed out on tea money from him 🤣🤣🤣

There has NOT been a vaccination requirement for Thailand since September 30, 2022 so this report must be fake. I've crossed in/out of Thailand using various land borders since November 2022 (and since August using airports) and the only time I was asked for Covid documentation was for re-entering Thailand in late August, by my airline. I showed a recent antigen test result and that was it.

Most reports say Laos is the best place to do a border bounce, as they don't care how many stamps you have in your passport or how long you've spent in Thailand. Your plan should be fine.

Hey Brandon. Wondering if you can help me with my daughter. She's university aged.

1. From America

2. She came in September on a Tourist Visa. While here, she got the Ed Visa which expires in a few days. We need to go out and come back in. Do you recommend anything in particular for her? I'm not sure what the difference between border bounce and visa run are or which one would apply to our situation.
