What should I do if I need to change my outbound flight after entering Thailand with a TM6 card?

Your TM6 departure card has your outbound flight, but what if you change flights (and even destination)? (I'm on visa exempt + 30 day extension). My outbound flight is to Canada but for work reasons, I should go to Dubai instead. Do I need to go to immigration to fix my TM6 card? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you need to change your outbound flight after entering Thailand, you don't necessarily have to visit immigration to update your TM6 departure card. You can simply write the new flight number on the card if it changes. It's also advised to wait until just before check-in to fill out the departure section. Some users suggest taking a photo of the TM6 card for reference, especially since it is often stapled into your passport, and it's important for 90-day reporting. Overall, the TM6's serial number ties into your arrival card, which is crucial for any future immigration processes.

You dont need to fill out the departure section untill you actually depart.

I usually write the outbound flight number at the airport just before check-in.

The important thing about the "departure card" is actually the serial number as this is the same as the "arrival card" and ties in with that. When you do 90-day online reporting it asks for the TM6 number but not any departure date or flight.

Yes, it staples into your passport very nicely, along with your 90-Day Report Next Appointment receipt and your TM-30 receipt.

Thanks. I just realised that a few minutes ago, I was looking at the card and wondered why I shouldn't just get a new one, but I saw the serial number on the bottom and thought it "ties in" with the arrival card, as you say.

Derek Silva. I find it convenient to take a photo of the card, as it's so easily lost, and at least then you have the number. I got severely told off once at CW immigration because it wasn't stapled in my passport!

You shouldn't fill out the departure card until you leave

thanks. I think I've left it empty on prior trips but I guess during this time of strict travel, I probably thought it was safest to fill in everything. Should've left it empty until departure date.

Pre-covid you used to be able to pick new one up at airport after security and before immigration. I often had lost mine and did it.

Just write in the new flight number if it changes

thanks, was wondering if they are strict about you being on the right flight when leaving. I guess the most important thing is that you leave when you say you leave!

nope they don't care in the least if you leave when you say you will or if you get an extension and stay longer.
