Here is what I did on my personal case, I had to renew my Work permit first and then extend my work visa Non -b
* renew the Work permit first at Nonthaburi, it was very easy. With the proper documents it was done in 20minutes. I paid 6100THB for a 2 years extension of my work permit.
* Then I went to Nonthaburi immigration and renewed my work visa extension with the same documents that I had to provide last year. If you have to use Nonthaburi immigration, keep in mind that they are searching for any reasons to not validate your documents (missing a stamp here, signature there...). They purposely ask for some more documents that are not on the list, then when you give them all they will ask for some more, etc etc. Be aware that it will take a few trips if you don't use an agent (5 for me). Paid the regular 1900THB for the extension.
Hi everyone,
I've been working in Thailand since 1 year already and I have to renew my work Visa and my Work Permit.
End of my 1 year visa is 16 October 2021
End of my work permit is 06 October 2021
Next 90 days : 23 September 2021
For the 1 year work Visa extension, I will have to provide again the same updated documents from my company that I presented the first time, right?
And for the work permit, what is the procedure? Do I have to get my visa extended before applying for the work permit?
In which order do I have to do things and do I have to hurry? I am a bit confused as it's the first time ๐
TIA,

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew a Non-B work visa and work permit in Thailand, first renew your work permit at the Nonthaburi office, which can be done quickly if you have the proper documents (cost: 6100THB for a 2-year extension). Next, go to the Nonthaburi immigration with the same documents to extend your work visa (cost: 1900THB). Be prepared for potential document requests and delays at immigration. Always communicate with your HR department regarding necessary documents and procedures, and remember that limits and rules may vary by immigration office.
You should talk to your HR (or who processed your WP and visa for the first time) at least 2 months ago. Currently because of COVID, a lot of things slower than usual. I renew my WP one month later than usual, because of limited time slots at BOI (I not sure how things work with MOL but delays can be also expected). You must be on hurry at least a month ago, because right now you have like a little bit more than 1 month to do all things.
As the general rule, you need a copy of the work permit to apply for an extension based on employment. You need to go to your local (Nonthaburi) immigration office and get a requirement handout or talk to the officer.
IMPORTANT REMINDER. Different immigration offices have different policies. The OP is using Nonthaburi immigration office. What applies to Ratchaburi (for example) may not apply to Nonthaburi. Either include the immigration offices you're using in your response, or I'll just start removing comments.
>For the 1 year work Visa extension, I will have to provide again the same updated documents from my company that I presented the first time, right
That is correct. Talk to your human resource department about the documents they require.
>And for the work permit, what is the procedure? Do I have to get my visa extended before applying for the work permit?
Sadly, this is not a work permit group. Talk to your human resource department for more information.
>In which order do I have to do things and do I have to hurry?
You can stay in Thailand until October 6. Most immigration offices allow extension of stays to be renewed 30 days in advance. You must submit another 90 day report no later than September 23 and you have a window of 15 days prior to 7 days after to submit the repot.
