I'm asking for a Russian friend. So she's on a working visa that expires the 5th of April. Now after she's done working she want's to stay in Thailand for some holiday and want to change her working visa to a TR in Laos.
So everything has change from what i've understood and you need to book your day at the embassy you want to go. Is that still the case?
Are the requirements different from me as a Swede to a Russian for getting a TR?
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Russian national is seeking advice on transitioning from a working visa in Thailand to a tourist visa (TR) while planning to travel to Laos. The individual needs to clarify if it's necessary to book an appointment at the embassy, and whether the visa requirements differ for Russians compared to Swedes. Community responses suggest that visa requirements are the same for both nationalities, and it's essential for her to cancel her working visa before applying for the TR visa in Laos. Recommendations include utilizing online platforms to book appointment schedules for visa applications and highlighting potential risks associated with obtaining a visa post working visa.

No, they are the same.
P.S. There are some risks getting SETV after working visa. There was reports of refusing of the SETV as well as problems with entering Thailand with SETV after working visa. Using land crossings reduces such risks
requirements are the same. she should cancel the wp and void the extension before she go out. She could go to Cambodian border at Ban Laem or Ban Pakkard to get a 30 day entry stamp or do a trip to Savannakhet. Agency like us or others can assist.
If she want to visit Savannakhet in Laos, she can just walk in but there they ask bank statement with minimum 20.000 Thb, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation.
Problem is once in a while things change and if we do not get updates from members, people will get angry if the list is not updated. Now they only get angry at the Thai Consulate if their website is not updated. Saves me from even more message request with foul language.
Question is on what kind of "working visa" she stays inside of Thailand. Sounds maybe as a strange question, but depending on her stay she needs to cancel this before she can leave the country.
Thanks, she can stay till her admitted to stay date, and than just leave the country. As this is a Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa nothing has to be cancelled.
I can not look in her passport. She can, does she have a visa sticker and making border runs every 90 days, or does she have a stamp with in the second line the text Extension of Stay permitted up to ../../.. and report to Immigration every 90 days?
Oh i didn't know that you needed to cancel a visa. But let me ask her. That's really important to know ofc. If it maybe helps she's a model and i don't know what kind of visa they usually have. Do you know?
