UK Passport on a TR Multilple entry visa (Valid until 16th April 2023).

Entered Thailand on 27th October, went to immigration today for 30 day extension of my 60 days (To 24th January), usual stamp i always get, nothing different.

The Immigration officer said when i leave in January i would need to get a new visa and that my visa would be void.

In the past i have had TR multiple entry visa and i leave after 90 days, go holiday somewhere for abit and then come back and get 60 days again (prior to the vaild visa date), the officer said i would only get 45 days when i come back.

I did ask if the rules had changed and he said no, its always been this.

Can you confirm with a TR multilple visa when i return i should get 60 days and can extend 30 days.

I understand with a normal single entry TR this is only valid for 90 days, but a multi i thought was valid until the end date (6 months from start date).

Hope someone can confirm, little bit confused leaving the office today.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder with a TR multiple-entry visa valid until April 16, 2023, is seeking clarification on the extension rules after receiving conflicting information from immigration. While the officer stated that upon returning after a holiday, the individual would only be granted a 45-day entry, other comments suggest that with a TR multiple-entry visa, returning before the visa expiration should still allow for a 60-day stay, followed by a possible 30-day extension, totaling 9 months. The individual is confused by the officer's statements and is looking for confirmation of the visa rules.

Multiple entry tourist visa is valid 6 months enter right before it expires and get 60 days and can extend for 30 days so it can last 9 months

@Kevin ******
he knows how that visa works ๐Ÿ™‚ , we're trying to ascertain IF they really have a 6 month METV or if they were issued a single entry tourist visa from the consulate instead ๐Ÿ˜•

So the real question is what does the PDF of the visa say?

you're totally fine (y) you do indeed have a 6 month METV ๐Ÿ™‚

just print that PDF and keep it in your passport, and when you go to re-enter the country present it with your passport and you'll get another 60 days that you can extend by 30 at the immigration office after you're here

Good luck with it, safe travels, (y)

well if you got it in the UK recently it was probably a PDF file, so LOOK on it and see what it says. It should have a date of issue and a date it's valid until that are 6 months apart and it should say multiple on the number of entry line

remember they had a thing at the bottom of the eVisa application for the METV that said you had to SHOW them why you needed a 6 month METV or they'd issue you a single entry 90 day tourist visa and keep the difference in fees
