Can I extend my non-immigrant TR visa and then extend a visa exempt entry in Thailand?

I will be heading out in a few days using a TR visa which will give me 2 months and I can extend for one month....then I will fly out and return on a "visa exempt" which will give me 45 days. Can you then get an extension on the "visa exempt" for 30 days? That would give me a total of 5 and a 1/2 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to travel to Thailand on a TR visa, which allows for a 2-month stay with a possible 1-month extension. Upon leaving, they intend to re-enter Thailand on a visa exempt entry that grants 45 days. They inquire whether the visa exempt entry can be extended for an additional 30 days, totaling approximately 5.5 months of stay. Comments confirm that an extension on the visa exempt entry is possible.
