Hello all. Iโ€™ve read that the Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for 6 months (from issue date) but is limited to 60 days from the date of arrival. Will I be able to extend it at immigration as with a regular TR visa or Iโ€™d need to leave Thailand and return?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa allows entry into Thailand for 60 days each time within a 6-month validity period. You can extend your stay by applying for a 30-day extension at immigration, unlike a regular TR visa which may have different rules regarding extensions.

It is valid for 6 months from the time it's issued.

Every single time you enter Thailand during this 6 months, even if you enter Thailand on the last day of the visa, you will be stamped into Thailand for 60 days.

Each one of these entries is eligible for one 30-day extension.

thanks for clarify as Thai Embassy London have this information on their website which look like 6 months start when you arrive:

Multiple Entry Visa :

Multiple Entry Tourist Visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Travellers must enter Thailand within the validity of visa, and they will be permitted to stay in Thailand not exceeding 60 days for each entry within the period of 6 months from the date of arrival in Thailand.

that's incorrect. The visa is issued with a date on it. They're not going to change the date on your visa when you arrive in Thailand. The date is already set in stone. 6 months from when the visa is issued by the embassy.

if you're applying through the London embassy, they're currently the fastest in the world that I know of. Normal tourist visas are usually issued in 2-3 days. Not quite sure about METV but probably no longer than 15 days if they don't ask for additional documents.
