TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Non-O visa as a father of a Thai child born out of wedlock, you need to have parental rights established through family court; otherwise, you cannot apply for the visa inside Thailand. However, prior to COVID-19, some consulates in Laos and Malaysia issued such visas without the need for court approval. It's unclear if these practices will resume.

PRE-covid-19 there were a few consulates around that would issue a 90 day Non-O visa based on being the father of a half thai child born out of wedlock without you being granted parental rights thru family court. The two consulates in Lao (Vientiane and Savannakhet) would issue 90 day single entry Non-O's AND one consulate in Malaysia (Penang) would issue a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa with just your name on the birth certificate and proof you had 400K baht in a bank account.

No telling IF/WHEN those consulates open back up whether they'll still have the same issuing policies or not..

At an immigration office inside the country you cannot apply for a 90 day Non-O without parental rights having been granted to you. :(

Vientiane also wants a copy of ID card/passport from the kid and housebook registration signed by the mother. 400k in the bank not required as a balance. Must show 6 months worth of bank statements.

@Ray****
some of what you mentioned is the standard requirement BUT

the 6 months of bank statements is not something I have ever seen it asked for or mentioned by people who were applying for 90 day Non-O's based on raising half thai children in Vientiane.

They were asking people to show 200K baht in the bank IF they had back to back 90 day Non-O's for that reason but they were telling people bring to the bank book next time, but they were not turning them away for not having it

On march 22, 2020 days before closing I was not asked for 200k balance. Only for 6 months statement. But as we all know they keep changing it all them time.

What visa/entry stamp/extension are you on now

Also please check your messages as I have messaged you on some previous posts you tried to make.
