Just a quick update for anyone going to vientienne to do a non o 90day based on having a Thai child. Made my booking ...arrived on the day with all the regular paperwork ( both copy and original birth certificate with my name on it ... tabian baan .. copy of the moms id card and the regular copies of my passport etc. All went smooth until they asked for my bank book with 200 000 bht in it.... well I said I don't have it .... they argued with me for a while and finally said.... Ok.. this is the last time .... so in the future 200 000bht is needed to get this type of visa. Ridiculous if u ask me .... 200 000bht for a 90day stay .... wtf. I can see this causing problems for alot of people in the future and it seems Thailand is wanting their women to be single moms.... anyway ... it is what it is.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience obtaining a Non-O visa based on having a Thai child in Vientiane. They highlighted the requirement of having a bank book showing a balance of 200,000 THB, which led to their frustration given the significant amount needed for a 90-day visa.
