Just a quick question on the "NON O" married to a Thai / Extension of Stay

Firstly, I have had some superb visa information from Tod Daniels as always (Thank you Tod).

I usually use the 40k per month but issues with wise coding it as domestic rather than International this year. Hence not a good time of the year to leave family at Xmas.

Anyhow! to the point I will/am required to start all over again but use the 400k banked.

Do I have to show it comes from International, can I use wise for this even though they there were issues with wise and domestic coding my money.

Can I use any source of money banked as long as it 400k baht in my bank 2 months prior?

Require Santa's little helpers on this please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around the requirements for the 400,000 baht in a bank account needed for an extension of a NON-O visa for those married to a Thai national. The author questions whether the funds need to come from an international source and if they can use Wise for transferring the funds, considering past issues with coding. Responses indicate that it may not be necessary to prove the source of funds for the NON-O visa compared to other visa types, and there is also a suggestion to use the visiting family extension to satisfy the two-month requirement for holding the funds.

I changed my non-O marriage from monthly income (Thai company) to 400K in the bank last year. The whole amount came from within Thailand. I didn't have to show the source of funds.

Can you use the visiting Thai family extension to gain the 60 days you need to season the 400k baht for 2 months thus avoiding having to start over, or indeed leave the country? Or have you used this already?

8 days left on 60 day family.

@Jak ******
in which case, other than the border bounce you plan would be to obtain the FET forms covering the transfers that didn't show up as international in your bank account from the first bank in Thailand that received the money. There's a section in the Wise FAQ covering this.

I'm with Scb, wise have this, I chose long term button for international reasons, but when going from wise, they put it in kasikorn, their intermediate bank before going on into mine!!!!

.

It should of went from wise to my scb first, but it went afterwards.

@Jak ******
then it's Kasikorn you would need to request the FET from. You need to go to a Kasikorn International Trade Centre, a normal Kasikorn bank won't help. Btw SCB has a 50k transfer limit from Wise

A land border bounce and re-enter will get you a new visa exempt entry for 30 days Plus one 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING.
James ********
When you reenter Thailand be sure to file a New TM30 address registration on file with your Thai immigration office. It will be needed for your 30 Day extension of stay or Non O Visa as Married to Thai application.

yes, thank you

If you apply for a 30 day extension of stay at the local Thai Immigration office , these are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay

Suggest you follow the advice given to you by the Thai Immigration Officer at CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office...

BOUNCE out and re-enter Thailand...

Apply for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai

And the One year extension of stay as Married.

Solves the problem of where the 400,000 Thai baht came from... Just have it on deposit for a full 2 months before you apply for the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai.

correct. I just want to make sure that the 400k can come from anywhere, I don't want a WISE, headache showing it come from an intermediate account again. Or this is ok with the 400k for no o

let's ask

The sheet handed out by section C-1 at the Chaengwattana office where you get in country Non-Immigrant type visas issued does NOT mention that you need to show proof of funds origin for the 400K baht banked money for a Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai, (like it does for the 800K baht banked money for the Non-O visa based on retirement).

IF you are now in Thailand....

What Thai visa are you now on ?

Tods all over it. Now, on 60 days due to previous hiccups. Expires in a few days. I had the 40k per month for 12 mths, but wise sent it to an intermediate bank before hitting my account.

I have days to leave, come back on a 30 day exempt, season 400k for two months, then apply for Non O 90 day, than back for the extension.

@Jak ******
yep 👍 I chatted with Tod... he's Spot On ✅
