Is it possible to cancel a retirement visa extension and get a visa exemption instead in Thailand?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I have a visa extension of stay (retirement) valid until 25 oct. 2019 with re-entry permit.

I am out of the kingdom for now. I will to go to Thailand start oct. 2019, but don't want to make use of my visa.

It would be much more convenient for me just to get a visa-extemption and void/cancel my visa extention.

Is this possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a retirement visa extension valid until October 25, 2019, with a re-entry permit, but plans to enter Thailand in October 2019 without using the visa. They are inquiring if they can void or cancel their current visa extension and opt for a visa exemption instead.
