Hello everyone,
Planning to extend Non-Immigrant O retirement visa (which expires on 10 September) in Bangkok for an additional 12 months.
Hoping to questions:
1. If I apply for the extension 30 days before the expiry date, will the 12-month extension be added from the original expiry date (10 September), or from the date I submit the application?
2. What happens to my current multi re-entry permit during this process?
3. I am planning to travel outside of Thailand and depart before 10 September. If I return before or after the current multi-entry visa expiry date, how will that affect the process and the re-entry permit?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've been reading and getting more confused. Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your Non-Immigrant O retirement visa in Bangkok, submit the application at least 30 days before the expiry date (10 September). The extension will begin the day after your current visa expires. Regarding the multi re-entry permit, it is linked to your current visa and will need to be renewed upon receiving the extension. If you travel outside Thailand before or after the expiry date, as long as you return before your current visa expires, your new permit will still be valid, but ensure to buy a new re-entry permit corresponding to the new extension.
